Residence of Evil continues to do the good work of Survival Horror fans everywhere with a new first look at an upcoming Resident Evil-inspired title. Developed by DeVoid Studio and available as a demo on itch.io, Perished Truth is described as “looking to revive [the] classical horror genre with fixed camera and tank controls”.
Perished Truth follows 10 people who have been kidnapped and trapped in an abandoned facility on an abandoned island. In addition to the standard puzzle-solving, battling mutants and working to uncover the truth behind your abduction, you’ll meet up with other survivors. But are they your friends in this predicament, or are they your enemies?
In addition to the Resident Evil series, Perished Truth takes cues from visual novels like the Zero Escape series. As such, you’ll be getting a bit more story and character development from characters having their internal monologues and interactions, instead of hunting down the usual journal entries.
There’s currently no release date for Perished Truth as of yet, but you can keep tabs on the game’s development through its Discord channel.
