“The Last of Us” Episode 7 Adapts Ellie’s “Left Behind” DLC Adventure from the Game [Trailer]

HBO’s “The Last of Us” has dropped a couple hints here and there about Ellie’s relationship with Riley, a character from the “Left Behind” expansion to the original game. That DLC content served as a prequel to Ellie’s story, and the HBO series will be taking a detour this coming Sunday night to explore that very side story. In fact, Episode 7 is titled “Left Behind.”

“Left Behind” premieres on Sunday, February 26, and the official preview trailer from HBO this week suggests it’s going to be a faithful adaptation of the memorable DLC adventure.

Storm Reid plays Riley in Episode 7: “Left Behind,” who takes Ellie on an adventure inside an abandoned shopping mall prior to Ellie’s fateful meeting with Joel. Without giving away anything for those who haven’t played through the game’s DLC storyline, this is the harrowing adventure wherein Ellie ended up getting bit – but not infected, of course – for the first time.

Prior to things taking a turn for the worse, Ellie and Riley are able to have a little fun inside the mall, stopping off at a Halloween costume shop and sharing a kiss to solidify their bond.
