‘The Last of Us’ Actor Annie Wersching Has Passed Away at 45

Known for playing Tess in Naughty Dog’s video game The Last of Us, we’ve learned the sad news this week that Annie Wersching has passed away after a battle with cancer at just 45.

In addition to her role in The Last of Us, Annie Wersching is known for playing Renee Walker in 37 episodes of the TV series “24,” an FBI special agent who appeared in two seasons.

Wersching’s credits in film and television also include “Star Trek: Enterprise,” “Angel,” Bruce Almighty, “Charmed,” “Cold Case,” “Boston Legal,” “Supernatural,” “General Hospital,” “CSI,” “NCIS,” “Touch,” “Extant” “The Vampire Diaries,” “Timeless,” “Runaways,” “Bosch” and “Star Trek: Picard.” Most recently, she starred in six episodes of the TV series “The Rookie.”

Annie Wersching is survived by her husband, Stephen Full, and their sons Freddie (12), Ozzie (9) and Archie (4). A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help Annie’s family at this time.

The Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann tweets, “Just found out my dear friend, Annie Wersching, passed away. We just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is shattered. Thoughts are with her loved ones. I miss my silly friend who helped bring Tess to life.
