‘Still Wakes the Deep’ Arrives June 18 on Consoles, PC [Trailer]

Underwater horror comes home this summer from The Chinese Room and Secret Mode’s Still Wakes the Deep. Originally anticipated for an “early 2024” release, the game will instead arrive on June 18 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam. It will also be available with Game Pass for console and PC.

The release date was revealed in a new trailer for Still Wakes the Deep at the Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2024, which showcases the Beira D oil rig situated off the coast of Scotland – and the first glimpses of the unknowable horror that has taken root.

Still Wakes the Deep is a return to the first-person narrative horror genre from The Chinese Room, whose past work includes titles such as Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, and Dear Esther. They’re also currently working away at Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, which is due out Fall 2024.

It’s 1975. Disaster has struck the Beira D oil rig off the coast of Scotland. You are one of the oil rig workers on the Beira D rig, fighting for his life through a vicious storm, perilous surroundings, and the dark, freezing North Sea waters. All lines of communication have been severed. All exits are gone. And something has snuck on board, leaving you to not only restore function to the rig, but also deal with the unknowable horror.
