‘Powerslave: Exhumed’ Hitting PC, Consoles Next Month

While it hasn’t even been announced for the Nintendo Switch as of yet, it would seem that the Nintendo eShop let slip that Nightdive’s upcoming Powerslave: Exhumed will be coming to the console. Not only that, it’ll apparently be happening next month!

A listing for the upcoming remake/remaster of the Lobotomy Software cult classic shooter popped up on the eShop, with a February 10 release date. This date or version of the game hasn’t been confirmed by Nightdive as of yet. However, the game’s Steam page now lists the February 10 release date, so there might be an official announcement shortly.

Of course, no mention of the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, but it again wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for those consoles to receive a version of Powerslave.

Powerslave: Exhumed is a KEX Engine port of the 1996 shooter that combines the PlayStation and Saturn versions of the original to create the definitive experience, totalling over 20 levels. Powerslave: Exhumed will feature modern enhancements such as Anisotropic Texture Filtering, SMAA, widescreen and HD display support, as well as gamepad support.

In Powerslave, the ancient Egyptian city of Karnak in the late 20th century has been overtaken by alien forces. A crack team of soldiers is sent to the valley of Karnak to uncover what happened. However, your helicopter is shot down, and you’re left to battle the aliens, who are seeking to resurrect the ancient Egyptian pharaoh King Ramses and use his powers to control the world.

If you’re interested in the original version of Powerslave, that’s still up on GOG.com.
