Netflix’s “All of Us Are Dead” and 6 Other Horror Movies and Shows Releasing This Week

Netflix‘s “All of Us Are Dead” is one of the notable new release horror titles on the way this week, with the final week of January 2022 providing several other treats along the way.

We’re also getting a brand new shark attack horror movie – starring Alicia Silverstone, no less! – along with a brand new Netflix series that looks to be a fun spoof of, well, itself.

Here’s all the new horror releasing January 24-January 30, 2022!

Doctor Carver horror movie

First up we have the indie horror movie Doctor Carver, which has been released on VOD outlets today. As you might expect, this one is about a deranged killer surgeon…

In Doctor Carver, “A group of ladies seeking the perfect faces soon realize no surgery comes without a price when they conjure up a demonic plastic surgeon.”

Should pair well with Ice Cream Man and Dr. Giggles. Watch the trailer below!

Jumping to Wednesday, January 26, the new SYFY horror-comedy series “Astrid & Lilly Save the World” will premiere, documenting the adventures of unlikely monster hunters.

In the SYFY Original series, “High school is hard enough when you’re different, but when outcast BFFs Astrid (Jana Morrison) and Lilly (Samantha Aucoin) accidentally crack open a portal to a terrifyingly quirky monster dimension, it gets a lot more complicated. It’s up to them to vanquish the creepy creatures and save the world, becoming the badass heroes they were meant to be. That is, if they can survive the horrors of high school.”

Meet Astrid and Lilly below.

Netflix will premiere the Korean zombie series “All of Us Are Dead” this Friday, which is based on Joo Dong-Geun’s digital comic on WEBTOON that debuted in 2009.

In Netflix’s “All of Us Are Dead,” a zombie virus breaks out fast inside a school. Naturally, endangered students fight to survive and escape the hungry hordes of undead.

The Korean series was created by Lee JQChun Sung-il, and Kim Nam-su.

Preview the Train to Busan-style insanity of “All of Us Are Dead” below.

That Alicia Silverstone shark attack movie we mentioned up above is titled The Requin, and it’ll take you into shark-infested waters on VOD starting this Friday, January 28.

“There’s terror in paradise when Jaelyn (Silverstone) and Kyle (James Tupper) arrive at a remote seaside villa in Vietnam for a romantic getaway. A torrential storm descends, reducing the villa to little more than a raft and sweeping the young couple out to sea.

“Suddenly, another danger appears: a school of great white sharks. With her injured husband watching helplessly, Jaelyn must battle the deadly predators alone in this tense thriller that rides an unrelenting wave of fear.”

Chomp into the trailer below.

Looking like a straight-faced spoof of Lifetime movies and films including Netflix‘s own The Woman in the Window, Netflix will debut their humorously-titled new series “The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window” this Friday.

Kristen Bell stars.

“For heartbroken Anna (Kristen Bell), every day is the same. She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her. But when a handsome neighbor (Tom Riley) and his adorable daughter move in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder… Or did she?”

There was one point in time when Sony’s Morbius was going to release this Friday, but instead we’re getting a “mockbuster” from The Asylum, titled Dracula: The Original Living Vampire.

In director Maximilian Elfeldt‘s movie, written by Michael Varrati, “Detective Amelia Van Helsing is on the desperate hunt for the killer responsible for a string of grisly murders targeting young women. Matters only worsen when all evidence leads to the seemingly untouchable Count Dracula. And when Van Helsing’s girlfriend vanishes, she is forced to question the very existence of monsters in a final showdown with the enigmatic count.”

The film is playing in select theaters from January 28 – February 3, and from what we gather, it’s also being released for at-home streaming on the same day it comes to theaters.

in the forest movie

Directed by Hector Barron, the horror movie In the Forest has been picked up by Vertical Entertainment, and it’s also coming to theaters and VOD on Friday, January 28.

In the Forest watches as Helen (Debbon Ayer) and her daughter Emily (Cristina Spruell) reluctantly accompany Helen’s father Stan (Lyman Ward) on a family camping trip, driving deep into the forest for a real outdoors experience, only to have angry landowner Howard (Don Baldaramos) arrive and force them to leave. When their RV gets stuck, Helen decides to seek help but discovers a disturbing secret on the man’s property. She must then fight to protect her family and make it out of the forest alive before being hunted down.”

Strong The Hills Have Eyes vibes from this one. Preview it below.
