PQube and Dragonis Games have announced that the complete edition of their Lovecraftian first-person horror experience, Necrophosis: Full Consciousness, will arrive on PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series on May 28. No word on when the Steam version will arrive, but it’s safe to assume that it’ll launch around the time of the console release.
To mark the occasion, a new devlog/release date trailer featuring Ares Dragonis has been released, offering a deeper dive into the vision behind the game.
Drawing heavily from the surreal paintings of Zdzislaw Beksinski, players in Necrophosis are Consciousness, a being trapped in a decaying vessel, lost in a world consumed by eternal rot. Navigating grotesque landscapes and Lovecraftian darkness, every puzzle and encounter pulls them deeper into the macabre.
Included in Necrophosis: Full Consciousness release is the Subconsciousness DLC, which furthers the gameplay experience. Players become the mind that moves without thought, navigating new surreal locations and forgotten spaces, with poetic narration woven directly into the puzzles themselves. It uncovers truths that Consciousness could never reach.
Meanwhile, the physical PlayStation 5 edition will also be available and includes a bonus game: Dragonis Games’ debut 2021 effort, The Shore. Set on a forbidden island, The Shore is a Lovecraftian horror-adventure that follows a father searching for his lost daughter, blending atmospheric exploration, puzzle-solving and facing nightmarish entities.
