The wait is almost over for Mortal Kombat 1, and in anticipation of the game’s launch (and for those who sprung for the Early Access), NetherRealm and Warner Bros have unleashed the launch trailer for the twelfth entry in the iconic series, featuring an the first look at the returning Shang Tsung and Reiko!
The launch trailer features a first look at story elements and gameplay for the shapeshifting sorcerer Shang Tsung, and his destiny in the reborn Mortal Kombat universe created by Liu Kang. Shang’s signature ability to morph into rival kombatants is back. The trailer also showcases gameplay for General Shao’s second-in-command, Reiko, who returns to the series after his last appearance in 2011’s Mortal Kombat as a background character.
The trailer also gives a glimpse of the new game modes available in Mortal Kombat 1. While it doesn’t appear that Motor Kombat or Chess Kombat will be making a return, you never know.
Mortal Kombat 1 arrives on September 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
