Immersive Horror Game ‘Afterlife VR’ Arrives on PS VR2 April 19 [Trailer]

Initially launching in Early Access for PC via Steam last September, Perp Games’ Afterlife VR will be making its way to Sony’s PlayStation VR2 next week on April 19th via the PlayStation Store. Coinciding with the release date announcement is a new trailer for the Split Light Studio-developed title that shows off a bit of the gameplay.

Afterlife VR‘s addition to the PS VR2 library will be a welcome one, given that Supermassive’s Dark Pictures: Switchback VR didn’t quite land as well as fans would have hoped

Described as a “deeply immersive horror game that will let you experience the true essence of terror,” Afterlife VR puts players in the shoes of rookie police officer Adam Bernhard. On a routine night patrol, Adam receives a call that leads him to the Black Rose mental hospital where his younger sister, Allison, had recently been sent. There, Adam uncovers secrets involving missing patients and hospital workers, along with something known as the Indigo Children phenomena.

Featuring a “blood chilling story” that will make you question your own senses, Afterlife VR touts its innovative puzzle design that takes advantage of the redesigned motion controls for the PS VR2, and Adam’s own telekinetic abilities. Speaking of which, you’ll be able to fend off those lurking in the darkness of the hospital with either your gun or your powers.
