‘Friday the 13th’ 2009 – Read a Gory Zipline Kill Scene from the Remake’s Unmade Sequel!

Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the writers of the 2009 version of Friday the 13th, have been sprinkling out details about the remake’s unmade sequel over the years, and today they’re celebrating Friday the 13th with a full kill scene from the script. But first, a little recap.

From what we’ve gathered, the film was set to be a direct sequel to the 2009 remake, but centered on new characters rather than continuing Whitney and Clay’s story. The plan was for the film to be set during the Winter, and its title was The Death of Jason Voorhees.

The writers note, “The script had an extended opening sequence again, this time in winter, then the rest of the movie is the reopening of the summer camp.”

Today isn’t the first time Shannon and Swift have shared pages from the script they wrote, as back in 2017 they tweeted out an awesome scene involving Jason and a frozen Crystal Lake.

“Ed watches in horror as Jason does something he’s never done before,” the script reads. “He steps out onto Crystal Lake.” Jason then proceeds to murder two victims in the script pages Shannon and Swift shared back in 2017, which also revealed the death of Whitney Miller.

Want to read more of the unmade script? Shannon and Swift have taken to their joint social media account this afternoon to share another gory kill scene from the never-made sequel!

In this particular scene, a woman named Val is up on a zip lane when she spots Jason Voorhees standing at the end of the line. Naturally, he cuts her in half as she propels towards him.

“Val’s upper half passes Jason and hits the end of the line with a sickening bounce. Just her top half, still clipped in to the harness, even as her innards spill out onto the wooden platform.”

Happy Friday the 13th. Read the bloody kill scene below…
