Frank Grillo to Play Cult Leader in Desert-Set ‘Man’s Son’

It’s been quite the EFM for Frank Grillo, who starred in The Purge: Anarchy, The Purge: Election YearBeyond Skyline, and many, many more. He’s announced several projects, including the werewolf horror Year 2, which is currently in pre-production.

In addition, he’ll be topping Man’s Son, inspired by actual occult activity in a California desert, reports Deadline.

“The story centers around a young couple hoping to create an aesthetically pleasing audition tape for an up-and-coming Charles Manson film. But when the couple chooses an eclectic desert Airbnb as the perfect backdrop, the dark events of the audition material slowly slip into their reality.

“Eventually, they find themselves intertwined in the sinister plot of an occult leader (played by Grillo).”

Remy Grillo will direct the modern-day horror thriller.

Josh Plasse and Brev Moss wrote the screenplay, which is inspired by Occult activity in the California desert.

Cameras are scheduled to roll in March in Yucca Valley, California.
