David Lowery’s ‘Mother Mary’ Starring Anne Hathaway Is Now Available to Watch at Home

Your prayers have been answered, as Mother Mary is now on Digital to rent ($19.99) or purchase ($24.99) via A24.

Written and directed by David Lowery (The Green Knight, A Ghost Story), the psychosexual thriller stars Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel.

In the film, long-buried wounds rise to the surface when iconic pop star Mother Mary (Hathaway) reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm (Coel) on the eve of her comeback performance.

Hunter Schafer, Atheena Frizzell, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Alba Baptista, Isaura Barbé-Brown, Sian Clifford, and FKA Twigs round out the cast.

The movie features original songs by Jack Antonoff, Charli xcx, and FKA Twigs.

Mother Mary is rated R for “some violent content and language.”

Hathaway can next be seen in Christopher Nolan’s epic The Odyssey on July 17, David Robert Mitchell’s sci-fi thriller The End of Oak Street on August 14, and Michael Showalter’s psychological thriller Verity on October 2.
