As most diehard fans know, the original Friday the 13th was filmed at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco, an active Boy Scouts camp in Hardwick, New Jersey. Unfortunately, the campgrounds are off limits to the public, meaning you can’t actually visit the filming locations outside of rare special events that the camp offers. And that’s where Crystal Lake Tours comes into play.
For the last few years, Friday the 13th fans have been offered the opportunity to tour the real-life Crystal Lake, and a special event this June will take that experience to the next level.
The team announces, “We made history in 2019 with the largest gathering of cast and crew from Friday the 13th since the movie was released. It was an amazing event and the fans that travelled to the camp from all over the world still rave about it. We had plans for an even larger reunion in 2020, but Covid-19 took over the headlines just weeks after tickets went on sale.
“The time has come to do it again. Break out your knee socks and favorite 80s apparel and join us back at camp on June 2nd or 3rd, 2023!”
The 2023 Crystal Lake Reunion is set to be a special on-location meet and greet event, with stars from the original Friday the 13th franchise coming together to hang out with fans at Camp Crystal Lake! The team also notes, “In addition, we will have our photo area set up with replica props and vehicles from Part 1. Our gift shop will be open with a wide selection of unique souvenirs and the movie will be playing on loop in our historic dining hall.”
