Wintery Survival Horror Title ‘Expedition Zero’ Arrives on PC March 24 [Trailer]

It’s been a little over a year since we last heard from Enigmatic Machines and their upcoming wintery survival horror title in Expedition Zero. So it’s a pleasant surprise that the developer and publisher tinybuild have announced that the game will arrive on PC via Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store on March 24.

As an added bonus, those still on the fence about snagging this one can try out the demo starting next week on February 21 during Steam Next Fest.

“We created a realistic setting for an immersive–and dreadful–experience capable of petrifying even the most seasoned of horror fans,” said Pavel Necas, lead designer of Enigmatic Machines. “Expedition Zero combines elements of exploration, sci-fi, survival, and even sandbox, encouraging outside of the box thinking to help our sole survivor break out of the deadly nightmare he has been stuck in for years.”

For those who need reminding, Expedition Zero places you in rural Siberia as the last person alive after a scientific survey went awry. Trapped in an abandoned military research zone surrounded by inescapable walls, lack of resources, hostile weather and hunger, these soon become the least of your worries. Out in the dark come the growls of some unseen creature that roams the forests looking for a meal.

You’ll have to work between rest to not only scavenge for supplies for crafting (and surviving), but also take the fight to the monster itself (if you can). Not only that, you’ll have to work to uncover government secrets as to just what’s really been going on in the frozen wastes.
