[Trailer] Underground Horror Game ‘Hidden Deep’ Announces Beta, Aims for 2022 Release on PC

If claustrophobic horror is your thing, Cogwheel Software’s upcoming Hidden Deep might be what you crave. When the Steam description lists Aliens, The Thing, and Half-Life as inspirations, you might be on to something. And if you’ve already made up your mind, you might be able to get in on the game’s closed Beta happening right now.

Hidden Deep is set in an underground mining and research facility, where a group of researcher have gone missing after detecting and examining “strange anomalies of unknown nature”. You are the leader of the second group that’s been sent in to investigate and rescue anyone who’s still alive. You’ll control your team by either giving them orders, or taking control directly. You also have numerous toys to play with in the form of grappling hooks, scanners, drones and heavy machinery.

And yes, there is something down there, so be prepared for alien foes and other unknown entities. Throw in an optional challenge mode where you and a buddy can tackle mission goals in randomized levels, and this sounds like a pretty sweet time.

As mentioned, the closed Beta is happening right now, so you’ll have to head to the Steam page to sign up. Hidden Deep looks to arrive next year in Early Access.
