‘Tormented Souls II’ Announced for PC and Consoles, Set for Release Next Year [Trailer]

PQube and developer Dual Effect are right back at it with the announcement that they’re developing Tormented Souls II. The sequel to 2021’s Tormented Souls (naturally), Tormented Souls II will arrive in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG.

Caroline Walker is back in the sequel, having made it through the Wildberger Hospital incident. Yearning for a normal life, Caroline is dealt another bad hand when her sister Anna falls victim to a mysterious affliction. When conventional remedies prove ineffective, Caroline looks to the supernatural and an ancient, forbidden ritual for a cure. This leads Caroline to the remote South-American community of Puerto Miller, which was founded centuries ago by the secretive Ismuit tribe, a minor religious order that spurned connection with the outside world. As these things go, beneath the town’s crumbling façade lies an ancient, unspeakable horror.

Returning to classic Survival Horror mechanics, players will need to rely on logic and reasoning to solve the intricately designed puzzles of Tormented Souls II. You’ll have to inspect and combine items in your inventory to uncover clues and reveal the mysteries that block your path. And as before, you’ll also be in claustrophobic combat with an arsenal of improvised weapons at your disposal, requiring you to pick your battles, and know when to run.
