Throwback Survival Horror Game ‘Alisa’ Comes to Consoles Next Month in a ‘Developer’s Cut’ [Trailer]

You may remember CasperCroes’ PS1-era survival horror throwback title Alisa – The Awakening (now shortened to just Alisa) from a few years back. The game has been out for a while now on itch.io, but will finally be getting a console release next month in a Developer’s Cut edition. Coming February 6th to the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Alisa: Developer’s Cut contains all of the updates and new content previously added to the PC version, as well as numerous fixes and quality of life optimizations.

Touted as a genuine throwback to PS1 and N64 style gaming, Alisa: Developer’s Cut features old-school Survival Horror aesthetics, including cheesy voice acting, pre-rendered backgrounds, a whopping 480p resolution (with the ability to render in an even more amazing 240p being researched), fixed camera angles. and the choice between classic tank controls or modern control styles. You’ll also have access to a variety of items and outfits with unique player stats boosts, and an array of weapon load-outs, ranging from a sabre and blunderbuss to an SMG.

Alisa sees you play as the titular character, an Elite Royal Agent tracking a wanted criminal, but has now woken up in a strange Victorian mansion that seems to be someone’s personal life-sized dollhouse. You’ll have to explore said dollhouse, solve puzzles, discover the reason why you’re there, and fight off the deadly life-sized mechanized dolls that roam the halls.
