“The Mercenaries” Mode for ‘Resident Evil 4’ Remake Coming April 7

Enjoying Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake? We certainly are. However, you’re probably wondering just where Capcom put the popular “The Mercenaries”. Wonder no more, as “The Mercenaries” mode is on its way to Resident Evil 4 next month.

Capcom made the announcement alongside the game’s release on Friday, saying that “The Mercenaries” challenge mode is will be coming as a free post-launch DLC for Resident Evil 4 on April 7. This is on top of the anticipated VR Mode for PlayStation VR2, which has begun development, and will also be available as a free DLC.

No word on if the VR Mode will be making its way to Steam VR for the Steam version of Resident Evil 4. However, you know that there will be a modder hard at work to get that going if Capcom elects to pass on it. After all, modders were able to pull it off for Resident Evil Village.

As for the other popular add-ons to Resident Evil 4 in “Separate Ways” and “Assignment: Ada”, that remains to be seen. One would hope that Capcom would be working to get those brought to the remake, since it really wouldn’t feel like the complete package if they were omitted from the remake. Fingers crossed that sales dictate what Capcom should do.

Resident Evil 4 is out now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series.
