‘Super Lone Survivor’ Out Today on Steam, Switch Release Aiming for November 8 [Trailer]

In case you missed it, Jasper Byrne’s Super Lone Survivor is out today on Steam. As an extra special treat, Jasper took to Twitter to announce the Switch version of Super Lone Survivor will arrive on November 8 for Europe & Australia.

As for the North American Switch release, Byrne expects that Super Lone Survivor will arrive on the same day as the Europe & Australian release, but he’s “still waiting on confirmation.”

Super Lone Survivor is a remake of Byrne’s 2012 hit Lone Survivor. You play as a masked protagonist who must escape by any means necessary from a city ravaged by disease. How you survive is up to you. You can either go at it guns-blazing, or use stealth to progress. Eat and sleep well, or resort to drugs to keep going. Search for survivors, or try to escape the city alone. Look after your mental health, or descend into madness.

Being that this is a remake, Super Lone Survivor has been rebuilt with a modern engine, and will include support for gamepads on PC, ultrawide monitor support, 4K effects and 60 fps. The game will also include all-new ultra smooth parallax scrolling layers. And for those old-school fans, the game contains a new 4:3 presentation mode and the original art has been painstakingly extended in height to support this taller aspect ratio (perfect for CRTs).

There’s more to the game than a fresh coat of paint. Super Lone Survivor also includes new content exclusive to the game, including hidden areas, and an overarching sidequest that ties it all together. There are also new foods to discover and craft, new enemy types and even new combat tools. Byrne also intends for the game to both be more accessible via its ‘Relaxed’ difficulty setting, and more challenging through its ‘Stressful’ setting.
