Formerly known as CMD: Studio, Villainous Games Studio has dropped a teaser for their upcoming stealth survival horror game, Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt. Part of the Horror Stories series of games, Harvest Hunt is a new single-player stealth survival horror game that “blends the replayability of roguelites with the tension found across the horror genre.”
While the full reveal of Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt won’t be until next week, a few details on the game can be gleaned from its Steam page. Harvest Hunt centres around the cursed village of Luna Nova. The community’s only hope of survival rests with the Warden (that’s you). Players will be scavenging the cornfields for precious ambrosia in order to save the village. But you’re not the only one harvesting, as you’ll be dealing with the Devourer. Sacrifice health to gain helpful tools against the Devourer, cling onto the safety of the shadows, and pray this night is not your last.
You’ll have to employ strategy to accomplish your goal and to stay alive through the use of Harvest Hunt‘s card system. The draw of the cards may bring otherworldly abilities, good fortune, and modifiers that affect both the environment and the Devourer. You’ll be constructing a deck that will cater to your strengths and the challenges that await. But be careful, as each night brings with it new challenges.
