Soulslike ‘Blasphemous 2’ Officially Revealed, Coming to PC and Consoles Later This Year [Trailer]

After teasing fans back in 2021, Team17 Digital and The Game Kitchen have finally pulled back the curtain and shown Blasphemous 2. The follow-up to the 2019 Soulslike will be headed to the Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series later this year.

Blasphemous 2 sees players once again in the boots of The Penitent One. Set after the events of the Wounds of Eventide update, Blasphemous 2 sees the return of the supernatural entity The Miracle, leaving The Penitent One no choice but to rise again and explore a strange unfamiliar world, defeat the monstrosities that lay in wait, and try to stop the prophetic birth of a new miracle child from coming to pass.

Featuring grotesque enemies and titanic bosses clambering to return him to the grave, The Penitent One will need to utilize and master new weapons and an enhanced skillset and try to survive long enough to deliver judgment to those who stand in his way, while unravelling long forgotten secrets.

Blasphemous 2 will feature “enchantingly grotesque” landscapes full of gothic charm, while also featuring the brutal hostility of the first game. Speaking of brutal, The Penitent One will have his executions on hand, as well as an expanded combos mechanic to provide new and devastating ways to rain destruction. The game will also provide the ability to customize and improve the Penitent Ones’ base skillset, and introduces new unique weapons that expand player tactics.

And of course, you’ll also have to overcome massive twisted bosses, each with unique attack patterns and abilities.

The original Blasphemous is available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
