Roguelike Deckbuilding Game ‘Inscryption’ Announced for PlayStation Consoles [Trailer]

Released on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store last year, Devolver Digital and Daniel Mullins Games’ deckbuilding roguelike horror title Inscryption will be headed to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. While the “inky black card-based odyssey” doesn’t have a release date as of yet, we do get a new announce trailer out of it, along with some PlayStation-exclusive features for the game.

For those who aren’t aware of Inscryption (Neil loved it, and named it one of the best horror games from 2021), the game sees you playing cards against a stranger known only as Leshy. In between play sessions of the card game, of which you’ll be building up your deck through insidious means, you can also roam around the cabin, gradually solving a series of puzzles that grant you powers at the card table.

As for the enhancements for the PlayStation version of Inscryption, it all comes down to the controller. For starters, your faithful companion, a talking Stoat card, will play its audio out of your controller as if it were in your hand. Secondly, the atmospheric lighting in the game will spill out from your controller, enhancing the atmosphere if you were playing in the dark, feeling like you’re inside Leshy’s cabin. And of course there’s the Haptic feedback for certain actions you’ll have to undertake, such as using the pliers.
