“Rick and Morty” Explore the Science Behind Stephen King’s ‘Pet Sematary’ in the Latest Episode [Video]

Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty” parodied not one but two classic Stephen King stories in this past Sunday night’s new episode, which was titled “Rickfending Your Mort.”

In the episode, Rick hires an Observer to verify Morty’s homemade punch cards, but the cosmic all-seeing entity won’t stop playing clips from their lives out of spite.

The episode features clips from wild “Rick and Morty” adventures we’ve never actually seen before, one of which is titled “Maximum Overdrive With Clothes.”

The segment parodies the 1986 horror movie directed by Stephen King, only in this particular universe, it’s clothes that gain sentience and go on the attack.

In the very same episode, Rick and Morty find themselves in Stephen King’s infamous Pet Sematary, where they humorously test the science of the sour ground.

“We’re sitting on top of brand new science here. Let’s gather some data,” says Rick.

What happens, for example, if you only bury half a body in the Pet Sematary? And what happens if you bury something other than a living being, like an automobile?

Oh and they also try burying Ben Franklin’s corpse… twice.
