‘Project Winter’ Devs Announce ‘The Walking Dead: Betrayal’ for PC [Trailer]

Skybound Entertainment and developer Other Ocean Interactive have another game based on The Walking Dead license on the way. The Walking Dead: Betrayal is a third-person action game of cooperation and deception for up to eight players, which is currently in development for PC via Steam. While no release date has been announced as of yet, the team will give fans a chance to dive into the game next month with closed beta tests starting August 10.

Played very similar to Other Ocean’s previous game in Project Winter, with The Walking Dead: Betrayal, a group of players must work together to complete objectives and escape the hordes of walkers that stalk them. However, it’s not all teamwork, as there are incognito ‘traitors’ amongst the group, plotting to do everything in their power to delay repairs, and prevent anyone from leaving. These traitors will work to sabotage and sow paranoia among the group, ultimately threatening to tear the survivors apart as they desperately work towards escaping.

“We’re tremendously excited to unveil this latest The Walking Dead experience that fully immerses players with a fresh and unique take on social deception gameplay,” said Robert Kirkman, Chief Creative Director of Skybound Entertainment and creator of The Walking Dead. “Partnering with Other Ocean Interactive, true innovators in this game genre, will allow players to experience hordes of deceit and distrust as they struggle to work together to survive and escape.”

Meanwhile, fans of the shows can look forward to the Norman Reedus-led spin-off “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixonpremiering this September on AMC.
