Last week, Arkane revealed the first Hero that players will be able to play as in Redfall with Layla. Now it’s ex-military sharpshooter turned private contractor Jacob Boyer’s turn to shine in his new Hero trailer.
The story goes that Jacob was once part of the Bellweather group, guns for hire that one night were ambushed by vampires during a job in Redfall. The attack initially left Jacob without an eye, but after an encounter with a vampire god, Jacob gained new powers in the form of a mysterious vampiric eye, as well as a spectral raven companion.
As with every Hero you’ll play as in Redfall, Jacob has three unique abilities. Given his role as a sharpshooter, Jacob has the ability to cloak for ten seconds that gives you the much-needed time to set up your sniper shots. Speaking of which, Jacob also has the Heartstopper, a psychic sniper rifle that can lock onto your enemies. The last of Jacob’s abilities comes in the form of the raven, which allows Jacob to tag foes, giving the player an outline of enemy locations.
Redfall is set to release on May 2 for Xbox Series and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store.
