Bloober Team has announced a late Christmas gift for Cronos: The New Dawn players keen on checking out the game’s world instead of focusing on avoiding the Orphans. Launching in early 2026, the new Temporal Diver mode features a new difficulty level that will have players take on a more explorative approach.
“Mildly” different from the existing game mode, the story with its all elements remains the same in Temporal Diver Mode, with main changes happening to enemy and Traveler health. In the Temporal Diver Mode, enemy health will be halved while Travelers will be doubled. This will provide plenty of opportunities for a little smoother progression for those whose gameplay style is more story-orientated rather than diehard action.
That’s not to say this mode is a cakewalk, as the fast-paced action and all the elements of the game remain in place, only the health will be adjusted in this mode. And, after completing it, players are more than encouraged to replay it on the Anvil of the Collective standard difficulty for the full survival horror experience.
The already existing hard mode — Forged in Fire Mode — unlocks after completing the Anvil of the Collective walkthrough, and is currently the highest difficulty where players will go headfirst guns blazing and leave no Orphans behind.
And if for some reason you haven’t played Cronos: The New Dawn, not only can you check out the demo on Steam and the Epic Games Store as you wait for the New Mode Update, with your progress made in the demo able to be transferred over to the full game. And since it’s Christmas time, you can get full version of the game at a 25% discount across PC, the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
