We all love our gore to varying degrees in horror. Salient Games sure does, given the announcement of their new immersive horror game, Gore Doctor. Set for a Steam release, Gore Doctor certainly looks to cater first-person shooter fans, alongside Saw and Hostel fans, judging from the game’s trailer.
The story sees you trapped in the institute of a tormented doctor who, driven by desperation, defies ethical boundaries to save his wife, Scarlett, from a deadly illness. As Scarlett succumbs to her fate, the doctor descends into madness and becomes convinced that death is the only respite. You’ll have to navigate the corridors of the institute, confronting grotesque horrors, uncovering dark secrets, and ultimately trying to escape with your life limbs intact.
As you navigate the halls, you’ll encounter the doctor’s grotesque creations. These nightmarish creatures will stop at nothing to protect the doctor’s secrets, leaving you to strive to survive their relentless pursuit. Along the way, you’ll have to uncover the doctor’s dark secrets through journal entries, scattered documents, and hidden artifacts.
As you might expect, Gore Doctor has plenty of the good stuff, reveling in the grotesque, and “pushing the boundaries of horror and gore to create an experience that will leave you breathless and disturbed.”
