Escape a Town Plagued With Vampires in ‘Sanguivore: Twenty Below’

Ever wanted a game based on 30 Days of Night? Released into Early Access on Steam earlier this month, developer Blood Eater Games’ co-op horror title Sanguivore: Twenty Below is a good start. The game has already received a couple of updates, including the latest one that focuses on improving elements of the User Experience (UX), as well as introducing new features to the game.

Sanguivore is a first-person multiplayer horror experience where you team up with up to four friends to brave an “escape room-style nightmare of a town”, aiming to avoid a gruesome end. Your mission spans across four distinct areas, each with their own unique challenges, as well as four potential escape routes. You’ll have to scavenge for tools, solve puzzles, and maintain your wits, all the while being pursued by the vampires known as sanguivores, or “blood eaters”.

Collaboration is key as you and your team must locate a variety of essential items to forge your way to freedom within each area. Most items can be used in multiple ways, and it will be down to you to find the best way to utilize them. You can work the fuse boxes to gain control over electronics, unlocking computers and keypads. Alternatively, you can also disable the power to open up new routes blocked by electrical faults.

The latest update includes changes to the UI, with the inventory and journal system receiving overhauls, as well as tweaking the look (and sound) of the vampires. Sanguivore has also received graphical updates to add further polish to the game, as well as tweaking performance. The team plans on keeping the game in Early Access over the course of several months in order to implement various fixes, as well as to “unveil a minimum of three comprehensive maps, each showcasing distinct elements, and an array of diverse ‘Sanguivores'”.
