Challenge a God’s Gravity in Horror Platformer ‘LOVE ETERNAL’, Now on PC and Consoles [Trailer]

If you’re a fan of the mix of horror and platforming of Catherine, developer brlka and publisher Ysbryd Games (WORLD OF HORROR, Demonschool) have a treat for you with their horror platformer of their own in LOVE ETERNAL. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, the game sees you attempting to escape the domain of a selfish god by mastering the ability to bend gravity.

A mundane family dinner becomes a waking nightmare for teenager Maya. One moment, she’s feuding with her parents over yet another fish dinner, and the next, her family has vanished, her home lies in ruins, and the world around her has been reshaped into an eerie, desolate realm. Abducted by a powerful, ancient god, Maya must navigate this hostile domain resembling an Iron Age castle, uncover the truth behind her captor’s motives, and fight to reclaim her reality before she, too, becomes another forgotten relic within its walls.

As mentioned, in order to survive, Maya must master the impossible by bending gravity at will, flipping between floors and ceilings mid-leap to traverse the crumbling chambers of the maze-like castle. Carefully plan jump arcs, trigger environmental mechanisms, and chain precise springs and flips together to clear various hazards. Each room presents a tightly crafted platforming puzzle that demands momentum, timing, and spatial awareness. All the while, the god’s watchful presence threatens to shift reality beneath Maya’s feet.

Beyond the castle’s deadly trials lies a desolate and atmospheric world of uncanny reflections and neglected histories. Explore towering ruins, submerged caverns, and distorted echoes of Maya’s own suburban home, all underscored by haunting ambient soundscapes. Encounter other prisoners and monstrous doppelgängers of Maya’s loved ones who present unnerving takes on what has transpired within the god’s castle.

LOVE ETERNAL is, to my knowledge, the first game to combine precision platforming with psychological horror; but even beyond this obvious novelty, the game unfolds in a way I think no player will be able to fully anticipate,” said Toby Alden, designer at brlka. “I’m very excited to finally reveal the moments and characters and world we’ve created, and I think anyone who rolls credits on this game will be able to say they had at least one entirely new experience.”
