After rebooting The Strangers, Madelaine Petsch has set her sights on remaking a ’70s horror deep cut.
“There’s one film from the ’70s that I really want to remake, but I’m in the process of figuring that out so I don’t want to say it yet,” Petsch tells Movieweb. “But I’m really excited about it if it happens. It’s so cool. I don’t know how no one’s remade it yet.”
Petsch adds, “It’s kind of like a deep cut though. I hadn’t heard about it until very recently, and then I watched it and I was like, ‘This is crazy! I have to remake this.'”
Potential titles that fit the criteria — lesser known ’70s horror that hasn’t been remade — include Tourist Trap, Alice Sweet Alice, The Brood, Don’t Look Now, Let’s Scare Jessica to Death, and The Abominable Dr. Phibes, to name a few.
Petsch makes her last stand against the masked killers in The Strangers: Chapter 3, in theaters February 6.
