First Look at Duffer Brothers-Produced Horror Series ‘Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen’

EW revealed the first images from “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen,” a Netflix horror series produced by the Duffer Brothers as their first post-“Stranger Things” project.

The eight-episode limited series is created and written by showrunner Haley Z. Boston (“Hunters,” “Brand New Cherry Flavor”), who likens the show to Carrie and Rosemary’s Baby.

Camila Morrone (“Daisy Jones & the Six”) and Adam DiMarco (“The White Lotus”) star as Rachel Harkin and Nicky Cunningham, who road-trip midwinter to Nicky’s wealthy family’s secluded vacation home, where they will be married in five days time.

EW explains, “Each episode tracks a single day around this private ceremony, and each day Rachel’s paranoia and superstition, fed by an accelerating number of strange occurrences, ramps up.”

The cast also includes Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight) as Nicky’s mother, along with Jeff Wilbusch (“Unorthodox”), Karla Crome (“Under the Dome”), Gus Birney (“Shining Vale”), Ted Levine (The Silence of the Lambs), and Sawyer Fraser (“The Baby-Sitters Club”).

Living up to its title, something very bad will indeed happen. “The special thing about this show, and what I think the title offers, is we’re gonna keep you guessing on what the very bad thing is,” says Boston.

Directors on the series include Weronika Tofilska (“Baby Reindeer”), Axelle Carolyn (“The Midnight Club”), and Lisa Brühlmann (“Killing Eve”).

The Duffer Brothers and Hilary Leavitt executive produce on behalf of Upside Down Pictures alongside Andrea Sperling (“Transparent”) and Boston.

“Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” is slated to premiere on Netflix in March. Expect a trailer soon.
