‘Anaconda’ Starring Jack Black & Paul Rudd Slithers Onto Digital Today

After grossing over $100 million at the global box office, Anaconda is now available on Digital for rental ($19.99) or purchase ($24.99) via Sony.

Jack Black and Paul Rudd star in the meta comedy reboot of the ’90s creature feature as best friends Doug and Griff, who have always dreamed of remaking their all-time favorite movie: Anaconda.

When a midlife crisis pushes them to finally go for it, they head deep into the Amazon to start filming. But things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears, turning their comically chaotic movie set into a deadly situation. The movie they’re dying to make? It might just get them killed…

Tom Gormican (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) directs from a script he co-wrote with Kevin Etten (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F).

Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior, and Selton Mello round out the cast, along with cameos from some of the original film’s stars.

Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Kevin Etten, and Tom Gormican produce, with Samson Mücke serving as executive producer.

Anaconda is rated PG-13 for “violence/action, strong language, some drug use, and suggestive references.”

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Anaconda anchors its fun structural experimentations with an affecting tale of four grown-ups manifesting another chance at happiness, and that sugary sweet core ultimately holds the bold approach together.”
