WWE Champion CM Punk Wants to Direct a ‘V/H/S’ Segment

Reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion and noted horror fan CM Punk has expressed interest in helming a segment in the V/H/S franchise.

Speaking with My Mom’s Basement, Punk was asked if he’d like to direct when he dropped the pipe bomb.

“It’s been offered,” Punk reveals. “It’s one of those things, a lot like writing comic books or fighting in the UFC, that it was offered to me, and it’s kind of unknown and scary, so now I have to do it.”

He continues, “I think the V/H/S series is pretty good way to get my feet wet in that regard. It’s definitely something that is more than likely going to happen within the next year.”

It’s worth noting that V/H/S series producer Josh Goldbloom just worked with Punk on Night Patrol, which hits theaters on January 16.

New installments in the found footage horror franchise have dropped every October for the past five years, so it’s likely the ninth V/H/S is already in the works. Could Punk be on board? Time will tell.

V/H/S launched in 2012, followed by 2013’s V/H/S/2, 2014’s V/H/S: Viral, 2021’s V/H/S/94, 2022’s V/H/S/99, 2023’s V/H/S/85, 2024’s V/H/S/Beyond, and 2025’s V/H/S/Halloween.

Punk’s other horror roles include Girl on the Third Floor, Jakob’s Wife, Rabid, and “Revival.”
