Beneath Perfection, a novel based on the original Tremors screenplay by S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock, has been published by Echo On Publications.
It’s written by Echo On editor-in-chief Christian Francis, who has authored such novelizations as Wishmaster, Session 9, and In the Mouth of Madness.
The book aims to bring new depth to the 1990 cult classic, delivering thrills and laughs while exploring the resilience of a community under siege… right beneath their feet.
“In the desolate Nevada desert lies the tiny town of Perfection. Population: 14.
“Life moves slowly in this forgotten speck on the map, until handyman duo Val McKee and Earl Bassett decide they’ve had enough of the dead-end town and hit the road. But before they can escape, they discover a grisly series of deaths… and something strange lurking underground.
“As mysterious tremors shake the earth and people start disappearing, Val and Earl uncover the terrifying truth: giant, carnivorous worm-like creatures are tunneling beneath the surface, hunting anything that moves.
“Cut off from the outside world, the residents of Perfection must band together to outwit the relentless monsters, now dubbed Graboids, using only their wits, limited resources, and an unhealthy amount of dynamite.”
Beneath Perfection is available now in hardcover, paperback, e-book, and audio book, the latter narrated by Dead Meat’s Zoran Gvojic.
Tremors creators Stampede Entertainment won back the rights to the original script earlier this year. The novelization marks their first involvement in the franchise since 2004’s Tremors 4, and they’re also discussing a new film installment.
