Fresh off of last month’s release of their Lovecraftian-tinged horror adventure Terror at Oakheart, developer Tainted Pact is back with another adventure title. This time, it’s a first-person horror adventure that “will send shivers down your spine” in Massacre at the Mirage.
The story of Massacre at the Mirage centres around the town of Crimson Ridge’s finest cinema known as The Mirage. You’ll be stepping into the shoes of the overworked staff as you operate and manage the Mirage cinema while serving the unsuspecting movie buffs. All the while, there’s a killer lurking about dressed as a clown (no relation to Art), and it’s your job to put an end to the murders.
Not only will you be playing as the staff of The Mirage, but you’ll also play as the customers, each with a unique perspective that will offer up a variety of gameplay elements. It’s all enveloped by the eerie ambiance of an old, run-down movie theater. Of course, you’ll need to be on the lookout for the killer, who “pulls no punches” in their brutality, and potentially lurks around every corner.
No release date has been set as of yet, though the press release hints at a Halloween release. If you can’t wait that long, thankfully there’s a demo on the game’s Steam page.
