‘Zombie’ Composer Fabio Frizzi Playing a Special Live Show at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in September

The Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline, MA will honor composer Fabio Frizzi with its Coolidge After Midnite Award on Saturday, September 17. The Italian maestro will be joined by his Frizzi 2 Fulci band for a live concert of his chilling compositions, followed by the award ceremony and a special screening of Zombie.

Frizzi is best known for his work with Lucio Fulci on the likes of Zombie, The Beyond, and City of the Living Dead. He also composed the scores for such cult classics as Pieces, Devil Fish, and Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich, while Quentin Tarantino featured his music in Kill Bill: Vol. 1.

Fulci passed away in 1996, but his legacy lives on in part through Frizzi, who has been paying tribute to his friend and frequent collaborator since debuting Frizzi 2 Fulci in 2013. This event marks Frizzi’s third time performing at the Coolidge.

“The Coolidge Corner Theatre is proud to honor composer Fabio Frizzi by presenting him with our fourth Coolidge After Midnite Award, recognizing his outstanding work in some of the greatest genre films ever made,” says Director of Special Programming Mark Anastasio. Previous award recipients include Lloyd Kaufman, William Lustig, and Adrienne Barbeau.

Tickets for Coolidge After Midnite Honors Fabio Frizzi are on sale now. $40 gets you into the Frizzi 2 Fulci concert at 9pm followed by the award ceremony and Zombie screening at midnight. Tickets for just the screening and ceremony are also available for $15.50.
