‘You Won’t Be Alone’ Trailer Praises “The Best Folk Horror Film Since The Witch”

A brand new trailer for the Noomi Rapace-starring You Won’t Be Alone has been released by Focus Features today, and this one is loaded up with attention-grabbing review quotes.

For starters, The Aisle Seat calls You Won’t Be Alone “the best folk horror film since The Witch,” while other reviews call the “haunting, transcendent, erotic” film a “masterpiece.”

The film releases in theaters on April 1, 2022.

The film is “Set in an isolated mountain village in 19th century Macedonia, the film follows a young girl who is kidnapped and then transformed into a witch by an ancient spirit. Curious about life as a human, the young witch accidentally kills a peasant in the nearby village and then takes her victim’s shape to live life in her skin. Her curiosity ignited, she continues to wield this horrific power in order to understand what it means to be human.”

You Won’t Be Alone marks the feature debut by Australian-Macedonian writer/director Goran StolevskiKristina Ceyton (The Babadook, The Nightingale) and Sam Jennings (Cargo) produce.

Anamaria MarincaAlice Englert (Ratched), Carloto CottaFélix Maritaud, and Sara Klimoska star alongside Noomi Rapace (Prometheus, Lamb, Netflix’s Black Crab).
