Two Development Videos for ‘Lies of P’ Dive Into the Game and Its Characters [Watch]

Neowiz celebrated Pinocchio’s birthday in a big way with the release of two brand-new development videos for their upcoming Soulslike, Lies of P. Along with a behind-the-scenes look at the game’s development, The developer also released a video featuring actress Allegra Marland (Elden Ring, “The Crown”) sharing a deep dive into her character, Sophia.

In the development video, Lies of P Project Director Ji Won Choi and Art Director Chang Kyu Noh explain what players are to expect from the story, characters, tone, and art direction of Lies of P, while also giving insight into the designs of the game world and cast, their inspirations for creating the game, and more.

Meanwhile, in the second video, Marland provides a detailed look at Sophia, and how she helped bring the character to life. Marland goes on to describe some of her favorite lines, and how she views Sophia in the context of the story.

Inspired by the familiar story of Pinocchio, Lies of P is an action souls-like set in a dark Belle Époque world. As the puppet P, players must wind their way through the streets of the ruined city of Krat, crafting weapons from the materials found in the world and interacting with the remaining few who manage to survive in this hellscape. The more lies told, the more human players become, with all the advantages and disadvantages it entails.

Lies of P is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam this August. There will also be a physical version of the game available for purchase.
