“True Detective: Night Country” Ends on a Massive Ratings High With 3.2 Million Night One Viewers

The fourth season of the anthology series, “True Detective: Night Country” has been a massive success for HBO and the Max streaming service, recently hitting an all-time ratings high for the entire series. In other words, it’s the most watched season of “True Detective” to date. And this past Sunday night’s finale ended “Night Country” on another ratings high.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the finale of “True Detective: Night Country” drew the season’s largest first-night audience, bringing in 3.2 million cross-platform viewers!

For the sake of context and clarity, the site notes that this particular number reflects “the first airing on HBO, two replays later in the night and streaming on Max.”

“Night Country” has averaged 12.7 million total viewers per episode, which again makes it the most watched season of “True Detective” in the anthology’s four-season history.

The premiere episode of “True Detective: Night Country” back in January 2024 drew 2 million first-night viewers, with more and more viewers tuning in as the weeks went on.

We’re thinking HBO is going to be ordering up “True Detective” Season 5 real soon.

Stay tuned…
