Prepare for more nightmare fuel, as Apogee Entertainment and developer Trigger Happy Interactive have not only announced a free New Game+ mode for Total Chaos, but a physical release of the survival horror title for PlayStation 5 owners. This is all accompanied by the release of the new Accolades trailer, which just so happens to include Harrison’s thoughts on the game.
The New Game+ mode is set to arrive early next year, and will introduce new narrative elements and a terrifying new stalker enemy type in the Hunter. This stalker’s presence will be ever-present, adding a whole new dimension of fear to the game and increasing the challenge. Thankfully, you’ll retain your crafting recipes and gear from your previous playthrough… but will that be enough?
Additionally, Apogee has teamed up with with Atari publishing label Infogrames and Clear River Games to bring a physical edition of Total Chaos to the PlayStation 5. Pre-orders are now available on Atari.com, along with various retailers, with a release window of Q1 2026.
What began as an award-winning total conversion Doom II mod has now become a full standalone title with a spine-tingling atmosphere and an aggressively uneasy tension throughout. Total Chaos pulls players into the abyss of Fort Oasis, a desolate wasteland once considered paradise by its residential coal miner community. A shadow looms over the island, inhibiting a sense of madness, which can only be described as the feeling of constantly being watched.
Total Chaos is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series (including Game Pass with Xbox Play Anywhere support), with the SteamVR version coming in Q2 2026. Total Chaos will also be coming to GOG.com and the Epic Games Store.
