“The Watcher” Trailer – Ryan Murphy’s Netflix Series Based on Creepy True Story Arrives in October

Back in 2015, you may recall, a creep who called himself “The Watcher” forced a family to move out of their house in the wake of increasingly disturbing behavior towards them, and it didn’t take long for big names in Hollywood to compete for the rights to the unsettling story.

The story of “The Watcher” will be told through a limited series, created by Ryan Murphy (“American Horror Story”), and Netflix has released the official trailer this afternoon.

Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale will star in Netflix’s “The Watcher,” with Netflix announcing as part of Tudum 2022 today that the series premieres October 13, 2022.

“After the Brannock family moves into what was supposed to be their suburban dream home, it quickly becomes a living hell. Ominous letters from someone calling themself “The Watcher” are just the beginning as the neighborhood’s sinister secrets come spilling out. Inspired by the true story of the infamous “Watcher” house in New Jersey.”

Ian Brennan (“Glee”) co-created and will produce alongside Murphy.

Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Catfish) are on board to executive produce the limited series for Netflix. Joost and Schulman were originally going to direct the film adaptation of the tale.
