‘The Vigil’ Director Keith Thomas Puts a Horror Spin on A Place to Bury Strangers’ Video for “I Disappear” [Exclusive]

The Eyes of My Mother‘s Kika Magalhaes and The Vigil‘s Malky Goldman fight to the death in this ultra-violent music video for A Place to Bury Strangers!

Often cited as “the loudest band in New York,” Brooklyn’s A Place to Bury Strangers returned last summer with an excellent new EP, Hologram, on founding member Oliver Ackermann’s label Dedstrange.

The band then shocked fans with the announcement of a new full-length album, See Through You, which is now streaming everywhere!

To celebrate the release, the band is sharing with Bloody a brand horror-themed new music video for “I Disappear (When You’re Near)” directed by none other than Keith Thomas, the filmmaker behind the excellent The Vigil not to mention Blumhouse and Universal’s fresh adaptation of Stephen King’s Firestarter!

As previously notes, the video features pits two women against each other in a fight to the death.

“I’ve always wanted to dig into music videos,” Thomas tells Bloody Disgusting. “When APTBS approached me, I was just coming off of two big projects back-to-back. So jumping into a run-and-gun, down-and-dirty film like this was a nice digestif.

“‘I Disappear (When You’re Near)’ is a great, enigmatic song and I wanted to give it an enigmatic visual component. You won’t know how our two protagonists (Magalhaes & Goldman) started fighting but you’re about to find out how their bloody melee ends…”
