‘The Outwaters’ Clipping Hypes Cult Horror as “Terrifying” and “Suffocating”

One of the scariest films of the year is Robbie Banfitch‘s nightmarish The Outwaters, which has received several rave reviews out of Chattanooga and Panic Fest, with our own Meagan Navarro calling it “a singular, experimental descent into depravity and gory chaos.” You have to read her review.

Some have likened the indie to the iconic The Blair Witch Project declaring it the next great cult horror film.

While we wait on distribution news, Banfitch, who not only directed, but wrote, edited, produced, and starred in the film, shared this fun “newspaper clipping” that gives you those Blair Witch Project vibes previously mentioned.

In The Outwaters, four travelers encounter menacing phenomena while camping in a remote stretch of the Mojave Desert.

The hype is real on this.

DailyDead calls it “a terrifying, suffocating viewing experience,” while iHORROR says it’s “on track to become the next cult horror movie,” adding that it’s “the most disturbing movie of the year.”

Follow the film on Twitter for updates.

We all die in the dark…
