The official trailer for Peacock’s “The ‘Burbs” will remind you that, even in the safest town in American, every cul-de-sac has a dead end.
Based on Joe Dante‘s 1989 cult classic of the same name, all eight episodes of the mystery comedy series will stream on Sunday, February 8.
Set in present-day suburbia, Keke Palmer (Nope) and Jack Whitehall (Jungle Cruise) star a young couple who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home.
Their world is upended when a new neighbor moves in across the street, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood.
Julia Duffy (“Newhart”), Paula Pell (“Saturday Night Live”), Mark Proksch (“What We Do in the Shadows”), and Kapil Talwalkar (“Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist”) round out the series regulars.
Guest stars include Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), RJ Cyler (Power Rangers), Justin Kirk (“Weeds”), Kyrie McAlpin (“Will Trent”), Danielle Kennedy (“Narcos”), and Randy Oglesby (“Star Trek: Enterprise”).
Creator/showrunner Celeste Hughey (“Dead to Me”) shares writing duties with Rachel Shukert (“The Handmaid’s Tale”). Nzingha Stewart (Tall Girl, “Daisy Jones & the Six”) directs.
Palmer, Hughey, Shukert, and Stewart executive produce alongside Seth MacFarlane (“Family Guy”), Erica Huggins, and Aimee Carlson for Fuzzy Door, and Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind), Kristen Zolner, and Natalie Berkus for Imagine Entertainment.
Original The ‘Burbs writer Dana Olsen serves as a co-executive producer. Unfortunately, Dante is not involved.
