The world of Keanu Reeves’ comic series BRZRKR is getting an expansion with an official novel set in the series’ universe, and Deadline reports that Reeves will be co-authoring the book.
This isn’t the first time Reeves has plotted an expansion of the BRZRKR Universe, as we’ve previously learned that a live action movie and an anime series are currently on the table.
As for the novel, Keanu Reeves will co-write alongside China Miéville. It’s titled The Book of Elsewhere, and the Random House imprint Del Rey is publishing it on July 23.
Deadline previews, “The novel will follow an immortal warrior on a millennia-long quest to discover the key to his immortality (and perhaps, a way to free himself from it).”
Keanu Reeves said in a statement, “It was extraordinary to have the opportunity to collaborate on The Book of Elsewhere with one of my favorite authors, China Miéville. China did exactly what I was hoping for – he came in with a clear architecture for the story and how he wanted to play with the world of BRZRKR, a world that I love so much. I was thrilled with his vision and feel honored to be a part of this collaborative process.”

BRZRKR is being described as a “brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior’s 80,000 year fight through the ages. The man known only as ‘B’ (Reeves) is half-mortal and half-god, cursed and compelled to violence… even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge – working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else.
