Damien Leone‘s epic MegaSlasher Terrifier 2 might already be on Bloody Disgusting’s SCREAMBOX streaming platform, but it continues to carve out huge weekends at the box office.
While Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will ultimately annihilate any film hanging around from this past October, Terrifier 2 did manage one final, impressive weekend. The slasher sequel is estimated to have taken in yet another $1.22M in 1,245 locations for a domestic total of $9.8M. While the film will ultimately top $10M by the end of the week, it has already surpassed this total worldwide. Not too shabby for a 138-minute, completely uncut ultra slasher…
Terrifier 2 accomplished all of this in fewer theaters than the big boys and with absolutely no marketing budget. And just for fun, we are officially submitting the film for Oscar consideration (joking aside, the yellow bedroom scene deserves to be remembered among special effects greats such as the transformation bedroom sequence in An American Werewolf in London).
