‘Stranger Things: Tales from ’85’ Teaser Trailer – Travel Back to Hawkins in April

Something from the Upside Down must’ve survived in the teaser trailer for “Stranger Things: Tales from ’85.”

Set between the events of “Stranger Things” Seasons 2 and 3, the animated spinoff will premiere April 23 on Netflix.

In the winter of 1985, snow blankets the town and the horrors of the Upside Down are finally fading. Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max have settled back into a normal life of D&D, snowball fights, and quiet days.

But beneath the ice, something terrifying has awakened. Could it be from the Upside Down? From the depths of Hawkins Lab? Or from somewhere else entirely? Our heroes must race to solve this mystery and save Hawkins.

Eric Robles (“Fanboy & Chum Chum”) serves as showrunner, with Flying Bark Productions (“What If…?,” “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) as the animation studio.

It stars Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will, Brett Gipson as Hopper, and Jeremy Jordan as Steve.

Additional voice actors include Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips.

“I grew up watching Jaws, and we play with the same trope in the sense of, underneath all that snow, there’s something lurking, and you just never know where that thing’s going to come out and grab you,” Robles tells Netflix. “We’ve been able to explore some unique monsters in the series.”

“Stranger Things” creators Matt & Ross Duffer executive produce with Hilary Leavitt on behalf of Upside Down Pictures, alongside Shawn Levy via 21 Laps, Dan Cohen, and Robles.
