‘Slay the Princess’ Gets Free Update with New Music, Dialogue

If you’re one of the now 200,000 players who have enjoyed Black Tabby Games’ Slay The Princess, the developer has a treat for you with a new update. Today they’ve introduced the free content update with new dialogue and music for the visual novel. In addition, for those who have yet to engage in the regicide, as well as a discounted rate in a 20% Steam Midweek Madness sale.

Slay the Princess’ first major content update fleshes out endgame content with new animations and more than 3,000 words of additional and restructured dialogue choices and conversations. The update also includes several just-added orchestral renditions of climactic tracks from the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.

“The love everyone’s shown for Slay the Princess changed our lives, and that support means we can keep working on it to try and fulfill our vision for the game,” says Tony Howard-Arias, Lead Writer at Black Tabby Games. “Thanks to all of you who made fanart, streamed the game, told your friends, or even just took the time to give our game a shot.”

In addition to the free update, Slay the Princess is getting a hefty discount on Steam, as well as being part of the new “Cabins in the Woods” bundle, which also includes two other acclaimed titles in Inscryption and What Remains of Edith Finch, with those games enjoying an additional 10% discount as part of the bundle.

In Slay The Princess (which Aaron enjoyed), you find yourself in the middle of a densely-populated forest, with the trees parting only for you to make way to a small hill adorned by a lone cabin. The Narrator asks you the simple eponymous instruction: enter the cabin and slay the princess. If you don’t, the world ends. At least, that’s what you’re told.
