Black Tabby Games’ horror visual novel Slay The Princess keeps on going. After reaching 500,000 copies sold back in November 2024, the game has now hit the lofty 1 million milestone in sales across all platforms. Not only that, but Black Tabby Games’ other visual novel in the ongoing gothic horror title Scarlet Hollow has now reached over 100,000 sold.
The latter news bodes extremely well for Scarlet Hollow, which will see its fifth episode launch on February 13.
“We’re immeasurably grateful for the outstanding reception Slay the Princess has received, and for the opportunity to have made something that has connected to so many people,” says Black Tabby Games’ Tony Howard-Arias. “I hope its success serves as a reminder that visual novels are a serious medium that can hold their own among even the most well funded and resourced games being made today, and we hope that the remainder of Scarlet Hollow continues to send that message.”
Slay The Princess is available on PC on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Scarlet Hollow is currently in Early Access on Steam. And if you haven’t had the chance to check out the latter, you can download the first episode for free with the Scarlet Hollow demo. Saves carry over, and every decision plants seeds that lead players to branching paths expanding over future updates in Early Access.
