Simon Pegg Talks Future Reunion With Edgar Wright; “We’re Circling Something”

While we probably shouldn’t expect to see Shaun of the Dead 2, with Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Baby Driver, Last Night in Soho) recently commenting that he’d rather focus on making movies he hasn’t already made before, that doesn’t mean an eventual reunion with Simon Pegg is out of the question. Wright and Pegg became known to American audiences through Shaun of the Dead, the duo subsequently pairing for Hot Fuzz and The World’s End.

It’s now been almost ten years(!) since Pegg delivered a career-best performance in Wright’s The World’s End, and fans are hungry for a reunion. So… should we be expecting one?

Pegg tells ComicBook.com, “With Edgar and I, we have to just get our schedules in order so that we can write together again. We’re talking about stuff, there’s been ideas thrown around and we’re circling something. But obviously he’s really busy, I’m really busy.”

“It’s not like the old days when we were just trying to get seen and we had all that time,” Pegg continues. “Now things are a little more complicated. But there’s room in my heart for all that stuff and I obviously want to work Edgar and Nick [Frost] again because they’re my mates and it means we get to hang out more.”

Nick Frost was of course Pegg’s co-star in Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End, and the lovable duo most recently worked together on Amazon’s “Truth Seekers.”

That series, alas, was cancelled by Amazon after just one season.
